At Applied Cryptography (ALEPH ℵ) we match cutting-edge cryptography with interesting requirements, brought by our collaborations with academia, the public sector, and the private sector. In order to find the best match, our research requires in-depth knowledge of existing standards and protocols, and often involves performance evaluation in the specific scenarios of interest. The use cases we encounter in our projects range from digital identity to cloud computing, electronic voting, and automotive. Some projects result in the creation of tools or libraries, which we publish open source whenever possible.
ℵ is one of the Research Units of the Center for Cybersecurity of Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK). Our mission is to carry out scientific research of excellence with a positive impact on society.
